This year’s Dover Days Festival theme of pre week activities is historic preservation – specifically the celebration of the 50th Anniversary of the signing of the National Historic Preservation Act. This celebration is known nationally as “Preservation 50”. The purpose of Preservation 50 is to commemorate, on a national, local and state level, the importance of historic preservation, to learn more about the first 50 years of historic preservation and to engage the public in a dialogue about the value and importance of historic preservation in our nation’s future.
